This isn’t a startup or a data play. It’s a personal project, built and maintained by one family — and Destin is our home away from home. It’s where we go to get away: the stretch of coast we’ve been coming back to for years, the place we head for when we need salt air and nowhere to be.
Over that time we’ve built up our own map of it — the spot we always eat at first, the shops we tell friends about, the quieter corners that never show up on a top-ten list. This guide is that map, written down and handed over.
There are no ads here, and there never will be. We don’t sell your attention or your data. What you’ll find is simply the places we think are worth knowing about.
Running this isn’t free, though — hosting, data, and the domain all cost real money. We’re setting up a small brand store as one way to help cover it. If you want to support the guide, that’s the easiest way to do it — and you get a shirt out of the deal.
Down the road, businesses may also be able to pay for an enhanced listing: more photos, a menu, a bit more detail. It will never buy a higher spot in the results or a better rating — that stays earned — and anything paid will be labeled as such. The directory stays free to browse, and free to be listed in.
